GUIDEBOOK – NELSON UPDATE MAR 2026.
The NELSON KIOSK is CLOSED. Currently there are a few options for getting supplies, please call ahead to check with business’s current trading hours.
- POST A FOOD DROP to yourself. This can be to Your Name, c/o Nelson Visitor Information Centre, Leake St. Nelson, 3292, (open daily). They are happy to accept Food Parcels & will pick up parcels from the Post Office for people also.
- PUCHASE SUPPLIES. There are some options at
- Nelson Tourist Information Centre. 08) 8738 4051 Open 10-12.30pm, 1.30-5pm daily.
Some Strive meals, biscuits, nuts, & insect repellent, gas cannisters, some medical supplies, no fresh food.
- Nelson Roadhouse. 08) 8738 4142 Open 7am-7pm daily. (The Roadhouse is also the Post Office)
Some dried noodles, flour, oil, mainly for car campers rather than for hikers. And of course, they have sandwiches, ice-creams & Bain Marie food.
- Nelson Hotel. 08)8738 4399 Open Wednesday – Sunday. Call ahead to confirm trade.
Some dried biscuits, nuts, chips, pasta, fresh sandwiches, some locally grown veggies, ice-creams, yoghurt. They will make up food if organised in advance and serve meals.
